We drove all the way from Liverpool, with a small Oliver, to attend our first ever PIZZA CHALLENGE in London. We loaded our Fiat Doblò with all our the necessary equipment and the dough ready to compete against other Italian pizza chefs from all over the country. Epic journey, after few hours eventually we got there. Still remember that day it was so freezing. The competition was held by the Pizza Purist food truck in collaboration with the Scuola Italiana Pizzaioli, led by a pizza legend Michele Intrieri. For us it was an hour to be there only after few months we launched Fritto competing with some already well established businesses and experienced Pizzaioli. We didn’t win, but that didn’t matter really..it has been such an invaluable experienc and great networking event. For this special occasion we have brought one of our all time favourite pizza, the Anacapri with mozzarella, gorgonzola, red mini, smoked pancetta, black pepper, Parmesan on a slowly fermented sourdough base. VERY PROUD!
