BAKING party pizza

PIZZA ALERT! Another PIZZA PARTY at home…our new favourite weekend activity since lockdown!

Like always we played around with few different ingredients exploring both classic & new exciting combos. A couple of friends came over for lunch. More than just a lunch it was a proper pizza party. One of them brought us something special: crema di fave (broadband purée) & peperoni cruschi (sun-dried sweet red peppers). These ingredients have inspired us for an unusual pizza. We cooked a pizza base for about 5 minutes, then added the purée, some slowly roasted golden tomato, put it back in the oven for another 5 minutes. When ready, we topped it up with Pecorino cheese shavings and fresh thyme. BOOM! An unbelievable flavour combination. This a fantastic idea for a super tasty and colourful veggie pizza or vegan – without the pecorino!

The other two pizzas were:

  • A great classic salsiccia & friarelli on a margarita base – always AMAZING!
  • A food porn dream with Bolognese sauce & burrata – level PIZZA PORN!

Margherita base with smoked fior di latte, Tuscan sausage & “cime di rapa” straight from Bari
Crema di fave” (broad bean purée), slowly roasted golden tomato, peperoni cruschi (sundried sweet red peppers) pecorino shavings & thyme
Bolognese sauce, burrata & basil.
